Supriti Bezbaruah
Independent Researcher/Consultant
I am an independent researcher/consultant, conducting policy-oriented primary and secondary research with a particular focus on gender equality. I have over 10 years of experience of research and work on issues relating to gender, international development, economic growth, governance, and public policy among others. I am the author of the book, “Banking on Equality: Women, Work and Employment in the Banking Sector in India.” My aim is to research and advocate for practical solutions to gender equality.
Previously, I have worked at the Institute of Development Studies, UK, the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, Singapore, the United Nations Development Programme, New Delhi, Hindustan Lever Limited, the Governance and Social Development Resource Centre, UK, BBC World Service, the Bank of England, among others.
I completed my Phd from Queen Mary, University of London, my MSc in Development Studies from the London School of Economics and Political Science and my BA (Hons) degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics (PPE) from Oxford University.
I was born in Assam, India and studied in India and in the UK. I currently live in Singapore with my husband and two daughters.
